چکیده

Abstract A process was developed combining two natural-based products to obtain bio-based films. Industrial cellulose pulp dissolved and mixed with epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO), which acts as an internal plasticizer. distillable recyclable ionic liquid-based solvent used dissolve the cellulose. Appropriate distribution of cellulose/ESBO solution on glass surfaces careful regeneration enabled development solvent-free flexible Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealed presence triglyceride structure absence epoxide ring in films, confirming chemical reaction between hydroxyl groups The resulting films were further characterized by scanning electron microscopy, dynamic calorimetry, thermogravimetry, mechanical tensile tests. also evaluated contact angle measurement, swelling ability, vitro degradability cytotoxicity. results showed that ESBO can adjust both flexibility hydrophilicity materials suitable for a variety applications.

Ring-Opening Polymerization of Epoxidized Soybean Oil

Ring-opening polymerization of epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) catalyzed by boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BF3 OEt2) in methylene chloride was conducted in an effort to develop useful biodegradable polymers. The resulting polymerized ESO (PESO) were characterized using infrared (IR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), H NMR, C NMR, solid st...

Studies on the Synthesis and Characterization of Epoxidized Soybean Oil

Traditionally, polymers are synthesized from petrochemical by-products. The greenhouse gas emissions from petroleum based polymers make them unattractive options as there has been an increase in climate changes and adverse weather conditions. Additionally, they are non-degradable, creating issues when used as landfills. For these reasons and more, there is an urgent need to find an alternative ...

Transesterification of epoxidized soybean oil to prepare epoxy methyl esters

Epoxidizedmethyl esters were prepared by the transesterification of epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO). The transesterification was complete in 10min at 50 ◦C without loss of the epoxide function. Epoxidized methyl esters represent a renewable substrate that is readily converted into surfactants, fuel additives, and other industrial products. The implementation of this reaction will increase the ava...

Synthetic lubricant basestocks from epoxidized soybean oil and Guerbet alcohols

Vegetable oils are biodegradable and therefore good candidates for environmentally friendly base stocks. They have excellent lubricity, but poor oxidation and low temperature stabilities. For this study, synthetic lubricant basestocks with oxidative stabilities and pour points comparable with commercial synthetic lubricant basestocks have been prepared by reacting epoxidized soybean oil with Gu...

4D printing smart biomedical scaffolds with novel soybean oil epoxidized acrylate

Photocurable, biocompatible liquid resins are highly desired for 3D stereolithography based bioprinting. Here we solidified a novel renewable soybean oil epoxidized acrylate, using a 3D laser printing technique, into smart and highly biocompatible scaffolds capable of supporting growth of multipotent human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). Porous scaffolds were readily fabricated by s...
